Postpartum Doula Services

Settling in at home with your baby and beginning your life as new parents is where the sometimes overwhelming reality of having a baby begins.

The first few days, weeks, and months are joyful, exciting, exhausting, overwhelming, and full of growth as you fall crazy in love with your new little family member. A postpartum doula can help you enjoy this hazy and emotional  time by helping you with daily tasks, assuring you are getting proper rest and nourishment, answering your basic questions, helping you find beneficial resources in your community, and so much more. She is your steadiest shoulder to  lean on and the best listening ear you’ll have! She is part of your care team and will graciously  work effectively with other family members that come to support you when your new baby arrives.

Postpartum care is “mothering the mother”….and the father. It is providing you the physical, emotional, and informational support you may need in the first few days, weeks, and months following your baby’s birth.

  • Caring for the baby while you shower or nap
  • Assisting you in initial basic baby care
  • Running errands for you (grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, dry cleaning, etc.)
  • Breastfeeding, pumping, or bottle feeding support
  • Organizing visitors and tasks for visitors
  • Light housekeeping
  • Helping create a daily routine for the family; creating task/chore list for partners and other helpers
  • Simple meal/snack preparation
  • Overnight support. We do the feeding, rocking, shushing, diaper changing and swaddling for eight hours while you sleep!

Postpartum Support Pricing

Because each family has different needs in the postpartum time, hours can be purchased either in a pre-paid bundle, or simply as you need them. Some families will book postpartum care hours before the baby arrives, selecting both daytime and overnight hours and enjoy knowing that support will be on hand when baby comes home. Others don’t know what they need until they have a need and then call for “help!”

Basic Postpartum Support $35-$45/hour

Daytime hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday  $35/hour

Evening hours are from 5:00 p.m. until midnight Monday through Friday $45/hour

Weekend hours are between 8:00 a.m. Saturday and 10:00 p.m. Sunday $45/hour

Overnight visits are normally for 8 hours, either 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. or 11 p.m. – 7am. $280/night

“Witching Hour” visits cover the typically difficult time of day 4:00pm-8:00pm $160

Words of Praise

“Kim was an amazing doula!! She helped me have the kind of birth that I wanted and was so supportive not only during labor, but with questions or concerns I had before and after our baby boy was born. She has such a calm demeanor and I can tell she truly loves what she does. We highly recommend Kim!”Courtney Ibinger

“Kim was actually back up for my doula and so I only met her a few hours before I went into labor. Nevertheless she was amazing! This was the first labor experience I had that I would describe as fun and a large part of that was Kim. I felt very comfortable with her. She wasn’t awkward and got along great with my husband and all the nurses. She helped with counter pressure and massage and was very encouraging! I highly recommend her!!! Feel free to contact me with questions!”Nichole McPherson

“Kim is a wonderful doula! We are extremely thankful for the love and support she gave us as we welcomed our little one into the world. Kim was by my side the entire time I was in labor. She was ready to give advice or suggest a way to get through a contraction. We were blessed to have her with us!”Hannah Rogers

“Kim brings such a calm presence to a birth team. She has a very sweet sense of humor and can always find something to be positive about. She truly cares about all her clients.”Mary Kate B
